Sled Cats Open 07-08 Season in Manchester, VT

NDAA

Oct. 21 - The Vermont Sled Cats opened their 2007-2008 season last night in an exhibition game against the United Spinal (NY) Rangers sled hockey. The teams were invited to play at the 10th annual winter sports opening day celebration at Manchester Vermont's Riley Rink at Hunter Park, Vermont.

In a hard-fought battle, the Cats lost by only a single point on goals by Cleary Buckley, Mike Ciavarro, and the "E" Team, Eric Rose and Eric Gissendanner. Goalie Patrick Standen had his hands, gloves, stick and pads full, keeping the Rangers to only 5, not quite enough to pull out a victory. Final score 5-4, New York.

Sled Cats on the Small Screen

WCAX TV

The Vermont Sled Cats put on a great show before nearly 500 fans at January 16th's Northeast 10 Division II men's hockey game between the St. Michael's Purple Knights and the Cadets of Norwich University. Local CBS affiliate WCAX Channel 3 did a great segment on the event, including player interviews. Read, see and hear the production on the WCAX website. Thanks to St. Mikes and Head Coach Lou DiMasi, and the WCAX sports team, especially reporter Kate Duffy!
