Sled Cats Open Season in Manchester, VT

NDAA

Oct. 21 - The Vermont Sled Cats opened their 2007-2008 season last night in an exhibition game against the United Spinal (NY) Rangers sled hockey. The teams were invited to play at the 10th annual winter sports opening day celebration at Manchester Vermont's Riley Rink at Hunter Park, Vermont.

In a hard-fought battle, the Cats lost by only a single point on goals by Cleary Buckley, Mike Ciavarro, and the "E" Team, Eric Rose and Eric Gissendanner. Goalie Patrick Standen had his hands, gloves, stick and pads full, keeping the Rangers to only 5, not quite enough to pull out a victory. Final score 5-4, New York.
